Vampire Knight Forums: Forum Rules (TOS)

This website is privately owned and operated. It is understandable that members have the rights to say whatever they want, whenever they want, wherever they want--as long as it's on their own property, within the confines of their personal space, and in accordance with the laws of the land. Members do not have the full extent of freedom of speech on privately owned forums/websites. The owners and other moderators of a website/forum have the right and responsibility to create, establish, maintain, and enforce rules that will protect the interest of the community as a whole, AND will edit or delete messages that are inappropriate or have the potential to cause flame-wars, AND will delete, ban, or disable a member's account for any reason that the administration has decided on.

Below are the rules and guidelines of this forum. All of these rules apply to ALL PARTS of the forums! We expect all to read and abide by them. Otherwise, something bad will happen to you.

FORUM ETIQUETTE
behavioral guidelines are to keep everybody's experience here a pleasant one. Remember the Golden Rule: Do onto others as you want done onto you. Thus, be nice and everyone will be nice to you.

• Please be polite, courteous and respectful of other members. That means, no personal attacks or insults on another member. While you may not share the same opinions, there is absolutely no reason you should resort to personal attacks on someone else. Anything of this nature will not be tolerated. You will only be warned once. Afterward, you will be banned. If you have an issue with another member, please bring it to the attention of an Administrator.
• Please use correct spelling and grammar. While we realize not everyone is an English speaker, please try your best to follow the rules of good speech and writing. That means, try not to use tYpInG lIkE tHiS, l33t sp34k, or similar.
• No flames or wars. This is in accordance to rule #1. If you start or participate in war, you will be subject to whatever the Administrators deem appropriate. Enough said.
• No character bashing! Just say good things, okay? Offending, torturing, saying hateful comments against another character, biased comparison of characters is an absolute NO-NO. Again, this is accordance to rule #1 and #3
• Do not create hateful topics! That's forbidden and will be punished.
• Do NOT SPAM , troll , or flood the forum.
  o You may chat all you want in specific chat designated sections such as SPAM! and Chatroom but you will need 25 NON-SPAM posts to be able to post there. Otherwise, no spam is allowed in the forum.
  o Stay on topic. Say something of substance.
  o If you are caught excessively spamming, you will be made read-only (meaning, no more posting!).

• Do not direct link. It is bad, rude, and did I mention bad? Any and all of the download links here are not to be shared or direct linked. If your friend(s) wants to download something, refer them to this board.
• Try not to use profanity. Let's keep it clean here.
• Do not insult the Administrators or Moderators. If you have a problem with a staff member, you can bring up the issue with the Administrators. If you make a post insulting a staff member, you will be banned automatically.

PICTURES

• Do NOT post more than 5 (FIVE) pictures in a single post.
• This also applies when it is one file, but appears to be more than 5 separate pictures.
• If you must post more than 5 pics on the same topic/thread, just reply to that post with another 5 pics and so on.
• Do NOT post real life nude or pornographic materials.
• This includes, but is not limited to, pictures, avatars, signatures, and links.
• Genitalia/breasts are forbidden.

AVATARS & SIGNATURES

• You can link to an external avatar up to 100x100 in size. Anything larger will be rejected.
• Your signature has been limited to 900 characters. Also, do not post image(only one image per signature allowed) larger than 400x200 in your signature. That is a rule and it will be enforced. Also, try not to use big (max 14pt) and blindingly colorful fonts.
• Administrators reserve the right to edit your signature if we deem it inappropriate.
• Results in WARNING and/or BANNING
• You can choose a smiley set in your profile settings. There are currently 7 custom sets.

POSTING GUIDELINES
While each forum will have its own set of unique posting guidelines, keep in mind some general things which apply to EACH and EVERY part of the forum:

• When posting a topic, use a descriptive and relevant subject line.
• Don't start a thread with just one sentence or question. Try to engage fellow members in conversation. Say something important and ask for feedback. Start conversations, not "yes/no" questions.
• Please don't use polls excessively. If this feature is abused, it will be taken away.
• Do not post anything illegal(music, videos, etc). Remember what happened to us at invisionplus?
• Mark all spoilers. Not everyone read as much as you and you don't want to make them lose their fun by reading, do you? If the topic you're posting has a spoiler, say so in both the subject and the first paragraph of your post. Use spoiler tag to hide spoilers in a post. For VK mark as spoilers events which happened in chapter 29 and up.
• Do not double post. There is a "edit" post feature so be sure to use it! All double posts will be deleted and excessive double posting will get warned and eventually banned!
• Do not post redundant topics. Check if there isn't already a similar topic posted, coz chances are there is. If there was a thread started like a month ago on a similar topic, reply to that one instead of starting a new one. Only when you have something new to discuss, start a new topic. 'Double topics' will be deleted.
• If you're posting screenshots or pictures larger than 200x100px, make sure it's either thumbnailed or post only link. Consider image hosting options like ImageShack, Photobucket or DeviantArt.
• Do not claim someone else's artwork/product/piece as your own.
• Always credit where appropriate, whether it be the artist, scanner, or owner. If you want to post something someone else made, please give proper credit by linking or putting their official name/username.
• Do not direct link (unless it's something like Photobucket or Rapidshare) unless you have a permission to do so.
• Please don't overuse CAPS LOCK.

Rules are Subject to Change, without Member Discretion.

Not following these rules will result in the following punishments:

• Warning (Official or Unofficial)
• Suspension
• Banning
